My First 5 days in Siena!

I arrived in Siena around 6:30pm (9:30a.m. at home) on Thursday. I stayed in the Hotel Cannon D'Oro for the first night with the other study abroad students. The room was pretty plain but clean. Friday my group had orientation in the morning and then went on a small tour of the town. The best stop was the gelateria where I got a mix of coffee and nutella(pretty much chocolate) gelato. DELICIOUS! I moved into my apartment that afternoon and was surprised with how big it was. There are three other girls living in the apartment. I share a room with a girl who also goes to Oregon State. Saturday my group met at the Campo, which is the town square where everyone congregates. Our next stop was the Duomo cathedral. The church had beautiful mosaics and so much detail in the floor, walls, and ceilings! Sunday was a free day to rest and explore Siena. I have walked around so much these last few days and got lost quite a few times, but always find my way back! Monday (today) was the first day of school and I had my travel writing class and my Italian language class. Hoping to spend some time outside now since it is a nice, sunny day out. Missing everyone back home!
Ciao!
P.S. I will try and post pictures this week!

  2. Sissy, the photos are so pretty! I really hope that I can make it there! We would have so much fun together. I hope mom can, too. What an experience! If I come see you, you and Brandon have to come see Logan and I in Alaska! :) The pictures are different than what I expected, but also the same in ways. I think I was expecting more flowers, water, and sunshine. I hope you have experienced those things, too. The structures are so cool! I love the look of the buildings, so picturesque and beautiful. It looks like you went back in time, a little. Very cool! I hope you are enjoying the girls you are living with! They all look very friendly and happy. :) I love you so much! Have fun and be safe sis! xoxoxoxo
